The Texas Center for Legal Ethics is now accepting nominations for the 8th annual Chief Justice Jack Pope Professionalism Awards. The Award is presented to appellate judges and lawyers who epitomize the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
New attorneys in Texas will now be taking the Justice James A. Baker Guide to Ethics and Professionalism in Texas course. The four-hour legal ethics course, required by the Supreme Court of Texas of all newly-licensed attorneys since 1996, has been renamed to reflect its broader focus on unique aspects of practicing law in Texas, including the Texas Disciplinary Rules, the Texas Lawyers’ Assistance Program, and the state’s pro bono opportunities, among other topics.
The Texas Center for Legal Ethics (TCLE) is proud to announce that Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit will receive the 2015 Chief Justice Jack Pope Professionalism Award.

Due to the icy weather conditions in Dallas, tomorrow's (March 6, 2015) Justice James A. Baker Guide to the Basics of Law Practice Course has been cancelled. Those registered to attend will be contacted to offer options to complete the required course.
