Bobby Ramirez

Roberto “Bobby” L. Ramirez is a Member of The Ramirez Law Firm, PLLC in McAllen, Texas, where he maintains a trial practice focused on personal injury. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He served as Chair of the Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline from 2021 to 2023, following terms as Vice-Chair and as a member of the Commission.

Bobby has been named to Texas Super Lawyers for nearly two decades. He served as a Discovery Special Master in the multi-district hailstorm litigation in Hidalgo County and has presented on topics including trial practice, damages advocacy, private prison litigation, legal ethics, and civility. His leadership in the bar includes service as President of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and as Chair of the State Bar of Texas District 12B Grievance Committee. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2016 and is a recipient of the Texas Center Professionalism Award, presented by the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism and the Hidalgo County Bar Association, and the Recognition of Excellence in Civility and Ethics from the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the Texas Chapters of ABOTA.

Bobby obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982 and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1985, where he served on the Board of Advocates. He began his legal career as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Filemon B. Vela of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He has further contributed to the development of professional standards through service on the Texas Supreme Court Committee on Revision to the Code of Judicial Conduct, the State Bar of Texas Court Rules Committee, and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the State Bars of Texas and New Mexico, the College of the State Bar of Texas, the American Association for Justice, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
