Allison Standish Miller

Allison Standish Miller is a partner at Steptoe LLP’s Houston office. Her practice focuses on representation of attorneys and law firms in malpractice and ethics matters in addition to general commercial litigation. Allison is also committed to improving the profession through her work speaking at CLE programs, mentoring lawyers and other legal professionals, and advising attorneys and businesses she represents on conflicts and other complex issues that often arise.

Allison earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 from the University of Texas at Austin with a double-major in Plan II Honors and English Honors. After three years working as a paralegal at an international law firm, Allison earned her JD in 2004 from the University of Texas School of Law. Following law school, Allison served as Briefing Attorney to Chief Justice Adele Hedges at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals.

A native Houstonian and diehard Astros fan, Allison is a member of the Association of Women Attorneys, where she serves on the Judicial Endorsement Committee; a Mentor in the HBA Mentor Program; and a Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation. Allison also serves as Vice President of the Board of the Episcopal Foundation of Texas; on the Board of Breakthrough Houston; and as a member of the choir and the altar guild at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She and her husband Patrick, an Episcopal priest, have two (almost) grown children, Henry and Catherine.
