Judge Amy Clark Meachum
Amy Clark Meachum was elected in November 2010 and began presiding over the 201st District Court in January 2011. She was formerly a litigation partner with the Austin-based law firm of McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore LLP. She graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University with degrees in both political science and journalism and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law with honors.
During law school, Judge Meachum was a member of the Texas Law Review and a Teaching Quizmaster. Judge Meachum was named a Rising Star for general civil litigation by Texas Law & Politics Magazine in 2007, 2008 and 2009, was awarded the Austin Young Lawyer of the Year Award for 2010 and the Austin Under 40 for the Legal Industry in 2011.
She is passionate about children’s literacy and currently serves on the board of the local nonprofit, Bookspring. She and her husband Kurt have three children and live in Northwest Austin.
